Why does the author refer to this beef-based dish as Shepherd’s Pie instead of Cottage Pie, and how does regional tradition influence that naming?

I made this Version 2 for family dinner last night, and it was a total crowd-pleaser! I’ve tried a few different variations of taco pie before, but the layer of sour cream mixed with the cheese in this version makes it so much creamier. The suggestion to use the crescent roll crust really elevates the whole dish compared to standard tortillas. It’s the perfect easy weeknight meal that actually tastes like it took more effort than it did. Thanks for sharing the updated recipe!
